ഐ.ടി.@സ്കൂളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഈ വര്‍ഷം നടന്ന ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ഏതെന്നു ചോദിച്ചാല്‍, നിസ്സംശയം പറയാവുന്ന ഒന്നാണ് മലപ്പുറം ടീമിന്റെ എഡ്യൂസോഫ്റ്റ്, സോഫ്റ്റ്മാത്സ് പാക്കേജുകള്‍. നമ്മുടെ ബ്ലോഗ് ടീമംഗം കൂടിയായ പാലക്കാട്ടെ മുരളീകൃഷ്ണന്‍ സാറിന്റെ കൂടി നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ നടന്ന പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് നാം നേരത്തേ ഒരുപാട് പരാമര്‍ശിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് ഓര്‍ക്കുമല്ലോ? ഇവയുടെയൊക്കെ നേതൃത്വം വഹിച്ചിരുന്ന രണ്ടു പേര്‍ ഇനി ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ നമ്മെ സഹായിക്കാനെത്താമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പുതന്നിരുന്നു- ശ്രീ. ഹസൈനാര്‍ മങ്കടയും, ഹക്കീം മാഷും. തങ്ങളുടെ സ്കൂളിലുള്ള HP Laserjet p1008 എന്ന പ്രിന്റര്‍ സ്കൂള്‍ ഗ്നൂ ലിനക്സില്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റാള്‍ ചെയ്യാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നില്ലെന്ന പരാതിക്കാരുടെ എണ്ണം കൂടിയപ്പോഴാണ്, കഴിഞ്ഞയാഴ്ച ശ്രീ. ഹസൈനാര്‍ മങ്കടയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടത്. രണ്ടു ദിവസത്തിനകം തന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം പരിഹാരമയച്ചുതന്നു. ഇതാ, പരിഹാരത്തിലേക്ക്...
താഴെ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ ചെയ്യുക. പ്രിന്റര്‍ മെനുവില്‍ വരും.
എഡ്യൂസോഫ്റ്റ് സിഡിയില്‍ തന്നിട്ടുള്ള 'build-essential'എന്ന പാക്കേജ് സിനാപ്റ്റിക് പാക്കേജ് മാനേജര്‍ വഴി ഇന്‍സ്റ്റാള്‍ ചെയ്യുക.
അതിനു ശേഷം താഴേ തന്നിട്ടുള്ള സ്റ്റെപ്പുകള്‍ ചെയ്യുക.
1.ഇവിടെനിന്നും ഡ്രൈവര്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റാള്‍ ചെയ്യുക.
2.റൈറ്റ് ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്ത് ഫയല്‍ extract ചെയ്യുക.
3.എക്സ്ട്രാക്ട് ചെയ്ത 'foo2zjs'എന്ന ഫോള്‍ഡര്‍ ടെര്‍മിനല്‍ വഴി തുറക്കുക.(right click - 'Open in Terminal')
4.ഇനി താഴേ കാണുന്ന കമാന്റുകള്‍ അടിച്ചോളൂ..
# su - enter
password:
# make
# ./getweb p1008
# make install install-hotplug cups
5. ഇനി Desktop --> Administration --> printing വഴി പ്രിന്റര്‍ ആഡ് ചെയ്യാം
പ്രിന്റര്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റാള്‍ ചെയ്തതിന് ശേഷം വീണ്ടും പ്രിന്റ് കിട്ടുന്നില്ലെങ്കില്‍ താഴെ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന command ലൂടെ "cups" stop ചെയ്തതിന് ശേഷം cups start ചെയ്യുക. (use root terminal)
#/etc/init.d/cups stop
#/etc/init.d/cups start

To install Samsung 1640 Printer in Linux(Obtained in ICT Scheme):
1. open the folder Linux in the CD Obtained
2. Copy all the files in to the home folder
3. Give execute permission for install.sh file (Rt. Click-Properties-permission-tick in execute)
4. Double click install.sh file
5. Click in run in terminal
6. Proceed with the directions displayed in the terminal window

if you are using IT@School GNU/Linux 3.8 you can find vlc in Synaptic package manager.
If you are looking for latest version of vlc you can download the vlc source code from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and compile it. but compiling from source is a difficult process.

@nikhil To block sites first you need to route all your internet traffic through a server pc(a normal pc in ur lab is enough) and then setup squid proxy and squid guard. Squid helps to cache the web pages on server so that we get a better speed in browsing.

HP LaserJet M1005 MFP , this driver available in 3.2, 3.8. Install printserver in 3.0, Use Edusoft CDs for good support. Also check the Foo2zjs Package. At first, Connect the printer then restart the OS .Go to Desktop -Administarion - Printing-Add printer- If the printer is not detected automatically , so select the driver from HP List.
After the it practical exam, in some systems,we are not able to copy the result to the server using pen drive.we tried it in root also.how to solve this.
